In one of the world's fastest-growing cities, a global real estate firm needs an impressive presence — especially in the space where it welcomes commercial clients.

Working with Atlanta designer Patricia Richey of TVS Interiors, Cushman & Wakefield chose Kimball Office for its high-profile Atlanta office. This space provides working quarters for 100 people, including executives, brokers, and support staff.

"Image for us is paramount. Commercial real estate is image. For us, that meant elegant, but not flashy. Also, we needed a space where we could maintain a very high level of productivity."
Karoliina Reddish, IIDA
Senior Project Manager
Cushman & Wakefield of Georgia, Inc.

Design Challenge
Increase communication and productivity for 100 people by incorporating open and functional workstations into an existing

space. Provide executive offices and an impressive, but flexible conference area, all conveying an image of success to visiting commercial clients.

"Before, research and marketing were all in little chopped-up offices. It was dimly lit interior spaces, and there was no collaborative space," says Karoliina Reddish, Cushman & Wakefield, Senior Project Manager.

Sophisticated research and analysis are Cushman & Wakefield's specialty in the real estate world. Accordingly, "Everybody here works at a level where high productivity is definitely expected," Reddish says.

The Kimball Office Solution
To encourage productivity, Reddish and designer Patricia Richey decided on open workstations. They selected Cetra in a neutral palette with wood trim in Ginger Cherry to create a fun space without going to an ultra-contemporary look.

Wood systems were modified for featured administrative areas, and the conference room features custom tables. For executive offices, they chose Cetra stackable panels with Footprint worksurface and storage components.

Reddish says she and Richey "chose Kimball Office because of its ability to modify products and its wide selection of wood products, which allowed even more of a custom look within a moderate budget and tight schedule."

Since the July 2003 installation, "I've seen a great improvement in the overall workspace," says Reddish. "There were some people who resisted (open workstations) at first, but we have definitely seen improved communication."

Personally, Reddish likes "all the bright, light colors we're using on all vertical surfaces. With the wood trim, it has a nice, eclectic look and feel."

"We knew Kimball Office had the selection we needed for the look we had in mind, and their modification capabilities made the space completely ours."

Product Specifications: Cetra® systems; Footprint® worksurfaces & storage; Traxx®; Skye®, Bingo®, and Acapella® seating; modified four-in-one conference tables, mobile cart and reception station.

Project Team: Patricia Richey, TVS Interiors; Jay Antos, Commercial Resources.
